David ... my great-great grandfather - Elisha Phelps - from Meigs County OH fought in the 4thWV - Co. I regiment at Vicksburg under Major Goodspeed and Colonel Lightburn. He died of casualties and disease sustained at Vicksburg and is buried in the National Cemetery at the site. I recently had the honor of visiting the area and walking the battlefields ... a very powerful experience ... he had brothers/cousins who also fought in the 4thWV regiment ... Pat
