I came across the New York times, on the internet and searched for Union flags captured. I found a list that had the 9th Ohio Infantry on it. I am not sure if this flag was captured or turned in by the regiment to the War Department for safe keeping. Come to find out a few Union regiments did that.

If anyone has anything on the 9th Ohio Infantry, please let me know.
