Dear Ms. Arnold:

I cam across the this thread several months after it was first posted and wonder if you have collected any information about the 39th Ohio. I have a blog devoted to Ohioans and the Civil War ( BloodTearsandGlory.blogspot.com )and have just posted several brief entries about the 39th. If you have anything to add--whether it's about the 39th's first brush with combat, at Lexington, MO, or anything else--I strongly encourage you to post it as a comment. The 39th seems to be one of the lesser known regiments Ohio sent into the war, and it would be nice to enlarge the body of public knowledge about it (which is what I am trying to do for Ohio as a whole, with this blog and my new book, "Blood, Tears, and Glory: How Ohioans Won the Civil War." The book is described at orangefrazer.com/btg )

Thank you.

James (Jim) Bissland
