I found one of these in Grand Bay, AL and posted it under the Indiana site in hopes some one there would know why he would have come south after the war. Today I found the following:

CPL CO E 68 OHIO INF
7/7/1839 10/21/1900

The grave is in the old Fairhope, AL cemetery. I am sure it would be quite a story of what brought him to this small quiet southern town.
