From what little information I have gathered many of the men in company I of the 90th became quite ill. Most suffered from dysentary and other ailments that one would suspect came from bad water they drank. My gr. grandfather received a pension in the 1890's of 6 dollars a month. before he had died he petitioned and succeeded in receiving more disablity and his pension was raised to a qhopping 18 dollars a month. Although he was unable to work full time he lived to be 89 years old passing away in 1932. Thanks for any info that is shared.
