Searching for letters, journals, and other personal and public documents referencing the life and military service of Alfred West, who served as a private in Company B of the Twenty-third Ohio Infantry. He enlisted in the regiment in 1861 at age twenty-two. Wounded during the Battle of Cloyd's Mountain on May 9, 1864, he succumbed to his injuries nine days later. Thanks in advance for your help.
