I am seeking a photo of 1st Lt. Fred Bertsch, Co. B. and of Capt. Wilhelm Staengel, Company C, ( wartime or civilian). I have translated and am editing 168 letters written by soldiers of the 9th Ohio (First German) Infantry Regiment for publication. These two officers wrote many of the letters. Bertsch was from Cincinnati and died there after 1900. Staengel was from Louisville and died in St. Louis, Mo. many years after the war.
