George F.Case enlisted September 16,1864 at the age of 28.Enlisted in Co. D 182nd O.V.I. on October 8,1864.He went in as a Private and left a Corporal. He received a disability discharge from Co.D 182nd O.V.I. on June 20,1865.The 182nd O.V.I. was organized in Columbus from August 4 to October 27,1864 to serve one year.On November 1 it was ordered to Nashville Tenn.,and on the 6th joined Gen.Thomas at that place.The Regiment took part in the battle of Nashville,where it remained performing guard and provost duty until July 7,1865 when it was mustered out.
