Our family has known that Charles was not 17 when his mother signed papers to allow him to go to war at the ripe old age of 14 . Census records and his marriage prove that he was indeed 14. Ever sense my late father showed me grandpa Charles' resting place back ,in the 70s, I have placed a red geranium at his military headstone every Memorial Day. Next to his headstone is a GAR flag holder. You don't see them often. In your info you have him buried at someplace other than where he is which is in the Constantine (MI)TWP cemetery . My grandfather one Leon G. Hagerman is also buried there near Charles. I wonder how I would get that changed? And also Sir how would I go about getting his age changed from 17 to 14?
