Co. K, 3rd regiment, MI Cavalry

I have 4 letters written by MI soldier, James Ashdown of Adrian, dated 11/3/1861, 11/9/1861, 11/20/1861, and early 1862. One letter from his 2nd Lt. Amos M. Adams dated 4/18/1862 notifies of his death on 4/4/1862 in New Madrid, MO of typhoid fever. I'm trying to locate his burial records and any other information about James Ashdown that might exist. One website said he's buried at Memphis National Cemetery but the cemetery website shows no information on him. Any help in finding more information will be greatly appreciated.
