Michiganers killed in VA April 12,1865

According to Confed Capt. George Junkin, who didn't know the war was over, his group ambushed Union soldiers on April 12, 1865 in Montgomery County, VA as they headed north. One was killed and another died later. They were from the Michigan cavalry, according to his report, but he wasn't sure.
Anyone know who this could be or what company?
Thanks.
