My name is Wendy Batchelder ~ I work at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. The Museum recently opened a wonderful Civil War exhibit called - "Thank God for Michigan! Stories from the Civil War". This exhibit is an interactive and colorful look Michigan's involvement in the Civil War using items and artifacts from the Museum's permanent collection.
On January 14 - the Musuem plans on hosting our first Civil War "fair", of sorts. We'd like to showcase local Civil War groups and organizations and present them to visiting guests. Demos, artifacts, sewing, dancing, soldier's gear, camp life, weaponry and drilling, books and historical information, ect...
