For a new edition of my book, Rattling Spurs and Broad-Brimmed Hats: Civil War in Cynthiana and Harrison Co., Ky. (1995), now out of print, I am looking for references to the 9th Michigan Cavalry and 11th Michigan Cavalry, who participated under General Stephen Burbridge in the Second Battle of Cynthiana against Gen. John Hunt Morgan on July 12, 1864. I am looking for any diary, journal, or newspaper memoirs in reference to that engagement.
