Thanks for getting back with me. It sounds like you may have more information than I do. My brother and dad did the research on the French/Native American side of the family and I have that information on Family Tree Maker. There are gaps and perhaps you can fill them in. I happen to have a picture of your great grandfather and I wonder if perhaps you have been in touch with my brother, Timothy Doherty, who worked on this branch of the family.

I would love, love, love to have a copy of the picture of Pascal's mother. I knew of the native american ancestory but my brother and dad never knew the identity of the tribe that we descend from. Do you happen to know and have information on the first native family member?

As for returning Pascal's remains to St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, I like the idea if it is not too costly. However, several years ago my dad and I made a visit to the cemetery and it had been completely destroyed by teenagers. There was not one headstone left standing and several had been smashed and stolen. This was in the late 1990's and I don't know if it has been restored since then. I would not want to return Pascal's remains if the cemetery is still in that condition.

It is interesting to know that they may restore the mustering quarters of the 14th in Ypsilanti. I would love to see that.
