I have the photo, of Pascal with another of the unit.
I have a lot of info on the battle and some original Quartermaster Corps info re: the burials of Pascal and others at the place of battle and later reinterment to the new Marietta National Cemetery, and I've been in discussions with the cemetery staff on that. He is in "Unknown Soldier" grave, although he is one of two and could be identified if they will assist us, and then it could properly marked, or we could bring his remains home to St Francis Xavier Cemetery to be with his family. Maybe you'd be interested in helping.
My great grandfather was Francis Xavier, your ancestors brother. "Frank" married at St Francis Xavier/Ecorse and then moved to Saginaw...he is buried in Mt Morris at St Mary's, fyi.
I'm very interested in sharing more info and as to the Canadian genealogy, I have all of that, I also speak and read fluent French, and I have our family lines well back into France, and also some of our Native American family info. Pascal's parents BOTH were French and First Nations...I have his mother's picture, an old tin type, and some other info, if you are interested.
Please continue to be in touch....they are also in the process of recognizing and maybe restoring the original mustering quarters of the 14th Michigan in Depot Town/Ypsilanti and the regimental colonel's personal papers are in the Clements Historic Library at the U of M.
