I've never seen anything about this possibility in my Engineers and Mechanics research. There's quite a bit out there about the 9th Michigan following the fighting at Murfreesboro in July and I don't recall any suggesting a detachment moved with Buell to Perryville. Nor do I remember seeing anything in Army of the Ohio about provisional units being among those who were at Perryville.

That said, individual soldiers do turn up in the oddest places sometimes.
