Elijah E Myers aka Meyers, born 12-22-1832 in Philadelphia, died 03-05-1909 in Detroit.

Was the architech of the Michigan State Capital building & several other State Capitals.

His obituary refers to him as (Col.) Elijah E. Myers aka Meyers. I can find no record of him serving. Does anyone know why he was refered to as Colonel.
