I found Manuel Kinch in the 1870 census in Penfield [sic] Township, Calhoun County, Michigan in the 1870 Census. I have provided genealogy findings to Mr. Hoffman via separate correspondence which I believe confirm that the Emanuel Chauncey Kinch I found was a resident of Michigan and was of the appropriate age to have served.
