Re: What about the 29th Mi Infantry?

Hi there!

I am working on pulling together as much information as possible on Pvt. James Melody of Hamilton,Ontario, born County Clare Ireland, 14 Febuary 1840. Enlisted as a volunteer in Marquette, Michigan into the 31st on the 16th of September 1864. He was then mustered into the 29th. Company K. died 23 August 1915. A member of the 472 GAR Post.

Believe it or not his Grand Daughter, Frances L. Simpson ne: Melody is still alive and well in Hamilton, Ontario she is 90 on the 13 June 2009 we are having as big family reunion on the 14th.

I am working on a history of the Regiment and Company K. and will present her with this document at the reunion. She has never seen a photo of James or
has much information on the 29th or Company K.

Please help provide this vital bit of family history.....

Really Big Thanx
