The birth date for Col. Orlando "Hurley" Moore is July 13, 1827. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA. I wrote many pages about Colonel Moore in my book, "Morgan Is Coming! Confederate Raiders in the Heartland of Kentucky." He led his men in a courageous stand at Tebbs Bend in Green River, July 4, 1863, defeating a much larger force commanded by Rebel commander John H.
