I see him listed in Graves registration but there is no unit listed. There were about two dozen Jacob Ryder-Rider's in the Civil War. The Michigan State Archives has GAR indexes. They arent answering any email requests now because of budget cuts. Either you can go there or just send them a request via snailmail for the index lookup. I have something else to lookin when I find it. Let me know how you make out
