Could not find a Ashel Herron in 11th Mich. Cavalry Rgt.
Did find the following...

Herron, Ashbel F., March 12, 1842 born at Gobleville, Mich.,son of Philo and Lucy Herron; 1860 farm laborer at family farm at Waverly, Van Buren County, Mich. March 9, 1864 enlisted at Kalamazoo, Mich. as pvt., Co. H, 13th Mich. Infantry Rgt. July 25, 1865 mustered out at Louisville, Ky. Dec. 30, 1867 married Lucinda Elnora Myers (July 1848 or Dec. 24, 1851 born at South Waverly, Mich.) at Bloomingdale, Mich. unreadable date applied for a pension while living in Michigan (certificate #891536); 1900 and 1910 hardware store merchant at Boyne City, Mich. Oct. 26, 1917 died at Boyne City; unreadable date his widow Elnora Herron (Dec. 24, 1851 born at South Waverly, Mich.) applied for a pension while living in Michigan (certficate #857940); Children: Willis Irving Herron, Nov. 10, 1869 born in Van Buren County, Mich. Clinton J. Herron, March 30, 1873 born at Pine Grove, Van Buren County, Mich.-Dec. 2, 1941 died.
