Evans cousins

Hello Len. My ggrandfathers brother Alfred Evans and his cousin Lyman Evans were both in Co.I, 26th Mich.Inf. Alfred was wounded at Deep Bottom, Virginia but survived the war and lived until 1908 near Clifford Lake, Montcalm County,Michigan. His cousin Lyman wasn't as fortunate. He was taken prisoner at Todd's Tavern, Virginia (May of 1864) and sent to Andersonville Prison where he died days before Shermans men liberated the prison. He's buried there. Lyman's brother Joseph Merrit Evans (Co.D, 16th Mich.) returned home from the war and married his widow Lucretia and lived near Langston, Michigan. When Lucretia died in 1885, J.Merrit moved out west to Montana and is buried on a hill above Blood Creek, Valentine, Montana. I have a photocopy of Alfred and his wife. I have much more info on the Evans cousins if your interested. Thanks,Gene.
