Re: 19th MI Infantry (Aaron Sweet)

Hello, Susan,

The fact that the men of the 19th Michigan spent relatively little time in Libby Prison may indicate that there won't be much in the way of prison records to locate.

Captured at Thompson's Station on March 5, they were marched to Tullahoma, Tenn. via Columbia, Lewisburg, and Shelbyville, arriving on March 11. Here the enlisted men were separated from the officers. At Tullahoma they boarded railcars that took them the rest of the way to Richmond where they arrived on March 20/21. Their confinement was to be *only* nine days before they were released on March 31 and sent to Annapolis.

Hope this helps.

Robert
