Re: APPARENTLY NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE 30th MICH. I

Hi Marty, Sorry after posting I found the roster for both the 30th and the 18th infantry, they show both brothers registered and I was able to print out info on their co's.
My ggrandfather's brother who is two years older was in the 18th Regiment Co E his name was Henry W Stout. What is most interesting is when his mother put in for his pension after his death 11/23/1868 from consumption, she needed witnesses proving she was his mother. Aside from people he and she knew wrote letters stating they knew them both, she gave as proof many of the letters he wrote to her. Our family has been able to retreive these letters. Some are hard to read but we managed to understand what was going on at the time he wrote it. Would be happy to share if your interested. Henry's brother, my ggrandfather Herbert E Stout served in the 30th Reg. Co D from 11/30/1864 to 06/30/1865. Thanks for your quick reply and interest. Carol (Stout) Hubner.
