The best source book for the 2nd Michigan Cav is Marschall P. Thatcher's "A Hundred Battles in the West," L.F. Kilroy, 1884.

I am quite interested in the 2nd Michigan (if you check out the link below, you'll see why) and farriers/veterinary surgeons in the cavalry, because I am a practicing equine veterinarian.
