Clark M. Harris of Oakland County, Mich., June 1838 born in New York; May 28, 1861 enlisted at Detroit, Mich. as private, Battery A, 1st Mich. Light Artillery Rgt. Jan. 24, 1862 promoted sergeant; unknown date promoted first sergeant; Sept. 21, 1863 appointed senior 2nd lieutenant; Sept. 5, 1864 appointed senior 1stlt. May 25, 1865 resigned; c.1872 married; as of 1880 and 1900 carpenter at Troy Township, Mich. as of 1890 living in Troy Township, Oakland County. with notation that he had suffered a broken leg during the war and fought at Rich Mountain, WVa., Perryville, Ky. Stone River, Tenn. and Chickamauga, Ga.
