Hello I am in the process of transcribing 35 + letters from my G Grandfather and Uncle
I have ran across a statement that I am not sure who he is refering to.
Any help would be appreciated

They were in the Michigan 2nd Cav Co G

Camp near Chickasaw Miss
Mar 11th 1865

"It was rumored here today that Gen. Sheriden has captured “Carley or Earley?” with all his command, but it seems most to good news to be true"
