Re: relatives in Union units of Civil War?

Thank you so much for all of this info,it will help in all of my research. In our family history accounts,Oliver was captured at the battle of the Wilderness while he was guarding the supply wagons. The Rebels attacked the rear and it was by his quick actions in that he told them there was a large body of Union troops just up the road,in turn he was taken captive with the rest of his fellow soldiers and taken to Andersonville and then to Florence, S.C. where he finished out the war.We have the detailed accounts of his time spent here and what a story it entails of his suffering, sickness and final release from these places. He was and still is a true hero as he helped to preserve the Union. I have other ancestors who are buried at Andersonville and in the coming months I hope to start a campaign where the bodies may be able to be sent home to a heroes welcome. More info will be made public as this story unfolds. Again, thanks for your prompt response and I will keep you informed as to the statis of the work I am about to undertake.

I remain,

Your Servant,

B.Robbins Harwood
