I am looking for more information on Simeon Maddox, G/3d Md. Cav. (U.S.). That is how he is listed in the NA Soldiers and Sailors System. However Union POW records record his name variously as Samuel Maddox (Pvt., I/42nd Va., captured Shade Gap, 4 July 1863; a conscript; born in Va; at Ft. Delaware 30 Aug. 1863 on a list of POWs "desirous of entering the service of the U.S."); Simon F. Maddox (Pvt., F/42Va, a POW at Ft. Delaware who joined the 3d Md. Cav, and was transferred to that unit 22 Sep. 63); and S.F. Maddox (Cpl., E/42Va, captured 3 July 63, Gettysburg; received at Ft. Delaware 6 July 63; joined 3rd Md. U.S. Cav.).

I am most interested in his service in the 3d Md. Cav. He is not listed on the roster of the 3d Md. Cav. to be found at the attached link.
