Thomas O. Servis, 29 year old Farmer, born in Gaston, N. C., enlisted in Company F, 5th North Carolina Cavalry (63rd State Troops, Partisan Rangers), left wounded at Winchester, n.d., later recorded as a Prisoner, captured May 17, 1863/July 5, 1863, admitted to U. S. A. General Hospital, West's Building, General Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland September 25, 1863 [note, there is a record of a Thomas O. Teank, captured at Gettysburg, July 5, 1863 which the War Dept. 12/22/1910 believed in error and that of T. O. Servis), transferred December 17 to Marine Hospital, Anne Arundel County, Md., slight leg wound due to Cannister & Shell wound, captured July 20, 1863 at Martinsburg, Virginia, died December 29, 1863, malignant smallpox, a number of documents regarding inventory of his effects, record he "died in the Marine Hospital, Baltimore "
