Re: July 1864 Cockeyville Skirmish

Tks, Brad. All I have to go on is the notation in the muster roll of the unit from which "my man" was detailed, that he had been KIA in a skirmish in MD on 18 July 64. Only skirmish I could find was Cockeysville, but couldn't find who was involved on CS side (and only elements[?] of one US cav unit on the other). If the muster roll was recording "hearsay" info, all sorts of possibilities could creep in--date, place, etc.--but have to start with the "given" and attempt to confirm or rule out before playing with other possibilities. (Or locate a burial site.)
