Yes it is very sad when a person is cut off from any communications from his home, even today communications are not the best for our sons and daughters seriving in Iraq. My wife is reading the book, The Civil War in the Chesapeake. It tells of the life in and around the entire bay region during the War. What amazes me is the fact of men from the far west wound up in Maryland as a POW and sadly in some cases dying and being laid to rest far from their native soil and Marylander's serving in the ATM and AOT. Case in point, the 3rd MD Artillery, CSA, at the seige of Vicksburg, MS.
