Eastern Shore Confederates

A question that I have always wondered about, and never seen in print -- The Eastern Shore from an agricultural and slavery standpoint was perhaps more "Southern" than any other part of Maryland (and that would include the southern portion of Delaware and the counties of Virginia's Eastern Shore), yet the section was cut off very early from the South by Federal naval forces in Chesapeake Bay. How many men in the Maryland Confederate units came from the Eastern Shore, and how many men from Delaware (if anyone knows) actually joined the Confederate forces? Did these Delawarians have companies of their own, or did they join the Maryland units, Virginia units, or were there too few to even mention?
