I am seeking information about Emily Hoffman(Huffman) who was engaged to General James Birdseye McPherson of Civil War fame. The information I have is that he was enroute to Baltimre to marry her when recalled to duty. He was subsequently killed near Atlanta Georgia and that she was so heartbroken that she locked herself in her room never to come out. I am a des.cendent of the Macpherson(McPherson) FAmily and would be most interested to receive any information about this young woman. I believe her family lived in Baltimore Maryland.
