Re: MUDD/BADEN family during Civil War

Bryan, my notes on Joseph N. Baden, detailed to the Signal Corps, CSA, include date of birth c1840, date of death 20 Nov 1874 at Providence Hospital, DC, and burial Congressional Cem., Range 2, site 87. Death certificate lists widow as Ewardina, per research of the late James O. Hall, my associate with Gen. Tidwell on "Come Retribution."

Unless there were two men of the same name/initials, Baden served both "in the field" and as a boatman on the "underground" route across the Potomac into Maryland,
the so-called "Secret Line."
