For anyone interested, the Arkansas Historical Quarterly, Summer 2005, contains a very well written article entitled: Raising Thunder with the Secesh: Powell Clayton's Federal Cavalry at Taylors Creek and Mount Vernon.This is in reference to the action around Helena, AR. in 1863.
