The Kansas in the Civil War Message Board

I haven't read Bird's Civil War in Kansas so I cannot comment on it. Pelican is publishing a series of small paperbacks which each focus on one region. They are intended to be short (and since these encompass all the war years they cannot cover the subject in-depth) and endnotes are intentionally omitted. They are not intended for the serious historian or researcher but to introduce the general public to the subject. The one of these which I have read is Steven Cottrell's Civil War in the Indian Territory, which I found to be well written and accurate - at least it did not conflict with any of my information on the subject. Cottrell's book did include a bibliography; did Bird's?
