I have been exhausted since my return and I am only in Ireland! My research things are still in my bag. My notes and other things are bound to shed new light on Moonlight. I now know that "he" came to America to seek Freedom. What type of freedom is still unclear. However, the newspapers I have found suggest a closeness to the African Americans and their cause. One important aspect of his life in Kansas seems to be that the newspapers saw him as a pioneer in the state. His hanging of Native Americans at Fort Laramie seems to have been balanced by his concern for them in later life. Even though claims have been made that he was a heavy drinker in later life he seems not to have drunk alcohol.

I also found that he was respected as a good shot even in Wyoming and thus my sport related leadership aspects might have some merit.

So you can see where I am going!
