Moonlight, post-war

Illustrating Moonlight's post-war political activity as well as a nasty political climate, this from the Aug. 12, 1886, Kirwin (Ks.) Chief, p. 3

"Col. Thomas Moonlight has been nominated for governor by the unwashed democracy. And now the democratic papers are full of moonlight, even as heretofore their vaporings were all moonshine. The Col. received a nearly unanimous vote in the convention."
