Jimmie...... I have neglected to find information on my great-grandfather's older half-brother, Culvin F. Tracy. He was "recruited" into the 15th Kansas Cavalry later in the war and was sick much of the time at Fort Scott. Culvin's wife, Levisa, spent time nursing him there.

I also ran across an FBI agent whose great-grandfather was in the 15th as a sergeant. Matt Mathews has written a great deal about the red-legs and subsequently, the 15th Kansas. The line is blurred because many of the recruiting officers of the 15th Kansas came from the red-leg groups.
