I am looking at medals and ribbons from my stepgrandfather
Hiram Swiler (also spelled Swyler) and one medal says

and there are many ribbons from annual reunions with the
notation "BLIND HALF HUNDRED"

and there is one ribbon in black marked "IN MEMORIAM" G.A.R. BUFFALO, Post 87, Buffalo, Kansas.

I am very curious as to the reference to the Blind Half
Hundred. Any information you may have would be greatly
appreciated.
