I am sure the Kansas State Historical Society did some sort of site survey, I can’t find the document right now. If I recall correctly, they did not think the new log structure was in the right location. Lindberg and I walked the area many times, and we believe the actual fort was in fact, further east. Bill, are you working on a Baxter Springs project?
