I am not the reply you anticipated, and I hope it comes for you, but I have been meaning to pass along to you some mentions of the 10th Kansas Cavalry (and Infantry) I uncovered in research of my series "Guerrilla Warfare in Civil War Missouri." In the four volumes there is in each index:
-- only page 107 in Volume I [1862];
-- pages 218, 300-1, 302, and 305-6 in Volume II [1863];
-- pages 27, 83, 86, 87-8, 157-9, 186-7, and 400 in endnote #37 in Volume IV [first 8 months of 1864];
-- and pages 57 and 71 in Volume IV [Sept 1864-Jun 1865].

My publisher, McFarland and Company, specializes in selling their books to libraries, so you may be able to view some or all four volumes at a library near you, or utilize Interlibrary Loan.

Of course, these references to the 10th Kansas concern only irregular operations and actions and not the regular ones, which are outside of my area of study. Each reference to the 10th is documented with citations in endnotes at the back of each volume. Many of these you undoubtedly have already seen, but, because of my subject matter you should find some episodes taken from local and other rather obscure sources that are new to you. Sometimes, these sources include personal information that may enhance your work. Guerrilla warfare also includes the several Union military prisons in the St. Louis area, and, some of these references regarding the 10th's role as prison guards you already know, although I may add a unexpected slant or two you haven't seen.

I tried my best to avoid prejudice in my writing, bearing in mind my own experience in the military and my professional training as a researcher, analyst, and historian. You can be the judge of that from what I produce.
