In Response To: Bloody Bill Anderson ()

Hello Mr. Longly.

I recently found your web page and wondered if you are still conducting research into the life of William T. "Bloody Bill" Anderson. I am 69 years old and an Anderson by way of my paternal Grand Mother. My Great-Grand father was John William T. Anderson, born March 10, 1878, in Tennessee, who claimed that Bloody Bill Anderson was his Uncle, and that he was named after him. John William T. Anderson's father was Abraham Marion Anderson, born Jan 9, 1835, died October 29, 1958. Abraham Marion Anderson had several siblings, one being William C. Anderson, AKA Caus or Cassen Anderson, born about 1838-1839.

There is an interesting story connecting our family with the Brown County area of Texas. I do know that one of my Great-Great Uncles, W.C. Anderson, mentioned in the above paragraph, settled in Texas after the Civil War. Supposedly, Abraham Marion Anderson had been told that W.C. had been killed in the Civil War. W.C. had also been told that Abraham had been killed in the war. You can imaginge their surprise when they ran into each other many years later at a Confederate Reunion held in Camden, Arkansas. I have birth dates and family names going back a minimum of 6-7 generations. I wont bore you with the dates etc., at this time, unless you request them.

Thank you for your time.
