I too am anxious to read your interpretation. I have always had a poor opinion of Jayhawkers and Kansas troops in general. Perhaps you can provide new insight. It is my belief that they usually faced undermaned, under-equiped primarily conscript troops from Arkansas, while the flower of the Arkansas troops fought east of the Mississippi. I recall how my great great grandmother told me about the Kansas Jayhawkers robbing the defenseless citizens.
