Parsons Kansas-Labette County Search

I am seeking someone from the area of Parsons -Oswego- Girard Kansas area of Labette county interested in the Civil War who would be willing to help search for the lost grave of a Civil War veteran near Parsons.

He is probably buried under a family marker without any military designation on his headstone so he probably does not appear on any lists of local veteran burials. A large number of these men, even men awarded the Medal of Honor, are buried under civilian family headstones and are quickly passed over in searches for veteran graves.

I'd like to find someone who can look up burials in Labette County, if there exists a burial index, or someone local who can go to the courthouse and find a death record to get an exact date of death. With an exact date we may find an obit which may in turn reveal his place of burial. The death record itself might tell where he is buried.

Please email me if you are interested in helping or know someone local who will help.
