Archer's company is briefly mentioned in the article linked below. The author mistakenly identifies Archer's company as being with the Second Kansas Militia. It appears that the two black men killed in that fight had on paper been assigned to Archer's company, but served as teamsters with the Second, an otherwise all-white regiment.
