About six weeks ago I posted two articles which had appeared in the Greenville (S.C.) Mountaineer, relative to the participation of a small group of South Carolinians in Kansas immediately preceding the war. I have now checked out the Laurens [S.C.] Avdertiser, the paper from which the articles were copied. Unfortunately, there are numberous missing issues of the Advertiser for that period, and only the article "Campaigning in Kansas," appears in the copies on file. So what was posted is apparently all that still exists.
