Thank you for posting Capt. G. W. Moore's 1856 letters. I'll be able to add some information from Moore's accounts in footnotes to Margaret Hays' 1856 letters written from the Hays' farm near Westport, MO. Margaret was only 19 years old and wrote more about her family than the excitements going on during this Border War period so added accounts are very helpful in understanding the few allusions she makes to current events.
